JÄRVENPÄÄ ART MUSEUM
Kirjastokatu 8

Järvenpää Art Museum is located in the library building beside the Järvenpää Hall. The museum features theme exhibitions on Eero Järnefelt’s (1863-1937) and Venny Soldan-Brofeldt’s (1863-1945) work. In 1990, the city of Järvenpää received a considerable donation from Kaarina Aho, the granddaughter of Juhani Aho and Venny Soldan-Brofeldt. The art collection included works made by Venny Soldan-Brofeldt in the late 19th and early 20th century. Järvenpää Art Museum was formed around this generous donation. The museum’s collection has enlarged considerably due to other donations during the years. The central focus has been on displaying the diversity of the work done by two considerable members of the Lake Tuusula artistic community. As the museum’s operation has increased, we have also started to arrange seasonal exhibitions.
