Traffic in Järvenpää
Järvenpää has excellent traffic connections. The city's bus and service traffic within the municipality and to nearby municipalities runs smoothly and trains run from dawn until late into the night. To the east of the city lies the Lahti motorway, and the Helsinki–Vantaa Airport is a short car ride away along Tuusulanväylä motorway.

The service bus is meant for everyone travelling within Järvenpää, but especially for elderly people and people with reduced mobility. The service bus runs between Monday and Friday from 9 am to approximately 3.30 pm. You can catch the service bus at the designated bus stop at 9, 10 and 11 am, and at 12, 1 and 2 pm. Also at 3 pm in winter. The bus stop is located next to the Myllytie work and activity centre on Polvipolku.
You can also make a request for the service bus to pick you up at your front door or at a specific address by calling 040 843 8075 (departure from the northern area) or 040 843 8797 (departure from the southern area). Orders should be placed at least an hour before the planned departure. Morning departures must be ordered by 3.30 pm on the previous day. The price of the journey is the same as for Järvenpää's local public transit and can be paid either in cash or using Matkahuolto's public transit tickets.

The City of Järvenpää does not have paid parking spaces, although many parking spaces require the use of a parking disc, and parking is limited to e.g. one hour. In addition, certain private parking areas require special permits. The restrictions are always indicated by the parking areas' traffic signs. The city oversees parking in both public street areas and in some private areas. The parking fine is 40 euros. The parking fine must be paid within 30 days of having received it to the city's account number indicated on the parking ticket.
