Järvenpää promotes the well-being and health of its residents

The promotion of well-being and health is preventive and aims to strengthen the residents’ own agency and well-being. This work is expansive and applies to us all, whether we are children, teenagers, working adults, immigrants or older people. An important part of our work is also the promotion of safety in our city.

Social and health services in our area are provided by the Keski-Uudenmaan sote joint authority (Keusote).

Services of the City of Järvenpää during the coronavirus

The City of Järvenpää has had to close some of its services (e.g. exercise facilities, indoor swimming pool, gym, museums, Järvenpää Hall) to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The library has a self-service area open for picking up reservations. For more information about the service situation in Finnish, visit our coronavirus page.

We recommend wearing a mask in the City’s public spaces and on public transport and in all other places where it is not possible to maintain a safe distance. So please maintain a sufficient safe distance when visiting our service locations. Take care of good hand hygiene and only visit us when healthy and asymptomatic. Also check out the information on coronavirus in different languages.

Face masks and their distribution to low-income people

Every home should have face masks, because in addition to upper secondary schools and public transport, THL recommends wearing a mask in public indoor premises and public events where close contact cannot always be avoided. The recommendation may become stricter as the epidemic accelerates, so it is advisable to have masks ready, even if you are currently able to avoid public spaces.
