Rent a boat berth

Boating season 2022

Those interested in a berth can reserve available spaces from 9:00 a.m. on April 5, 2022. As a resident of Järvenpää, you can rent a city berth on the shore of Lake Tuusula either in Tervanokka or Vanhankylänniemi.

There are three piers in Tervanokka and four piers in Vanhankylänniemi. There are a total of 254 berths and they are very popular among the citizens. The boating season is from May to the end of November, depending on the weather, and the rent for a boat berth is €100/season (incl. 24% VAT). You can rent a berth through the reservation system during Spring, when vacant spaces can be reserved for those interested.

IMPORTANT: The boat mark and port codes of the piers have been sent by letter on May 4, 2022 to the successful berth renters.

IMPORTANT: repairs and maintenance will be carried out at the boat docks. Buoys that have sunk down will be repaired and rotten and infirm running boards will be removed.

Things to note for boaters and fishers in Lake Tuusulanjärvi

• The gate codes are intended only for those who rented the boat berth, and may not be given to outsiders.

• The boat tag must be attached to the boat throughout the boating season

• On Lake Tuusulanjärvi, speed limit for boats is 10 km/h.

• Boating and fishing are prohibited near the beaches.

• Boats can be stored for the winter in a specially reserved area in Vanhankylänniemi for those boaters who are unable to transport their boat away from the area. Boats from this area must be moved to berths at the beginning of the boating season.

Grow useful plants on the plot

As a resident of Järvenpää, you can rent a farming plot from the city. They are located in Kyrölä, Väinönkulma, Vanhankylänniemi and Lepola. The plots in Väinönkulma and Lepola are multi-year plots, one-year plots can be rented in Kyrölä and Vanhankylänniemi. There are also perennial agricultural plots in Vanhankylänniemi.

The cultivation plots are about the size of an acre, and the plot rent is €22/season. You can rent a cultivation plot from the electronic reservation system during Spring, when vacant plots become available for reservation.

FYI; the one-year plots have been edited and marked. Farmers are allowed to start cultivation on their plots on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Things to consider when renting a farming plot

The one-year plots of Vanhankylänniemi can only be cultivated after the land has been cultivated and marked on the terrain. The city edits and marks the plots as soon as the weather conditions allow it. Structures higher than 0.5 m may not be built on the annual plots of Vanhankylänniemi. The structures must be removed by 15.10., with the exception of perennial plots.

In the cultivation plot area, and especially in the perennial plots, the cleanliness and purpose of the area must be taken into account. Plots are not intended for year-round storage of garden tools and other excess items.

Dog parks

Dog parks are places where dogs can enjoy being free and play with other dogs. In order to make the playtimes safe and comfortable for all dogs and their owners, rules have been drawn up for the dog park, which are also visible in the dog park on site.

The most important thing is to consider other dogs and their owners. All parks have waste bins for dog poop.

Carpet washing

The carpet washing place located on Tervanokantie is intended for residents of the city of Järvenpää, and carpet washing is free of charge. The carpet cleaning place is closed in the winter season and is opened for users at Spring in May/June (Mon–Sun 7am–10pm). This year, the carpet cleaning place has been opened on May 3, 2022.

Access to the washing place takes place through the upper gate of Tervanokantie.

You can leave the carpets at the washing place to dry at your own risk.

The carpet cleaning place is open until the end of September.

At the carpet cleaning place you can find:

• 2 washing tables with a maximum width of 235 cm
• 8 washing tables with a maximum width of 105 cm
• 3 separate rinsing racks
• In addition, a hand-operated mantel and several drying racks are available
