Waste management and recycling

Reduce, reuse and recycle the rest

We all consume a wide range of goods and produce waste at the same time. The amount of waste is increasing every year. By producing less waste, we can reduce the amount of waste we produce each year and save natural resources. At the same time, the costs of waste management, emissions, noise and other nuisances are reduced.

Favor:

  • services and waste-free technologies
  • sustainable and repairable
  • sharing and borrowing
  • reusable products

Avoid:

  • unnecessary consumption
  • waste of natural resources
  • short-lived and disposable
  • unsuitable for recycling
  • over-packaged products
  • hazardous waste

Despite these measures, waste is generated in everyday life. If waste is sorted correctly at source, for example at home or at work, it will be recycled properly and safely. Correctly recycled waste can be used in the best possible way, either as a material or as energy. By recycling, you contribute to the circular economy and reduce material waste. Remember, however, that recycling is not about reducing the amount of waste, because the waste that ends up for recycling has already been generated.
